HTC Camera

Take great photos and videos with the camera. For your convenience, there's more than one way to launch the Camera app.
  • If you've set up Edge Sense, just squeeze the lower sides of the phone anytime—whether the display is on or off.

    For details, see What is Edge Sense? and Taking camera shots using Edge Sense.

  • On the Home screen, tap the camera icon to open the Camera app.
  • Press POWER twice while the display is off.
    Tip: Make sure Quick launch camera is selected in Settings > Display & gestures > Advanced.
You'll see Photo mode, which is the default capture mode.

Icon or button Function
Slideout camera settings button Open the slideout menu to select a capture mode. .
Switch camera button Switch between the front and main cameras.
Switch to Video or Photo mode button / Switch to Photo mode icon Switch between Video and Photo modes.
Camera shutter button Capture a photo.
Bokeh off icon Choose either the manual or auto Bokeh mode option so you can take photos with blurred background.
Thumbnail of last photo or video taken View the last photo or video taken.

Turning the camera flash on or off

Tap the flash icon to choose a flash setting.

When using Flash on indicator or Auto flash indicator, the camera intelligently sets the best flash brightness for your photo.

In Selfie Photo mode, you can also tap the flash icon to turn the screen flash on or off.

Using the volume buttons for capturing

In the Camera app, you can set the VOLUME buttons to function as the shutter release or zoom controls.
  1. On the Home screen, tap the camera icon to open the Camera app.
  2. Tap Camera settings slideout menu button to open the Capture mode menu.
  3. Tap Camera settings menu button > Volume button options.
  4. Choose how you want to use the VOLUME buttons when you're in the Camera app.
