Choosing a capture mode

Switch to a capture mode to use for taking photos or videos.
  1. Tap Camera settings slideout menu button to open the Capture mode menu.

    You can also swipe down in portrait orientation or swipe right in landscape orientation.

    Tip: You can rearrange the capture modes. Just drag a mode icon to the position that you want in the menu.
  2. Tap the capture mode you want to use.
  3. To quickly switch between the front and main cameras, tap Switch camera button on the Viewfinder screen.
  4. You can quickly switch back to either Photo or Video mode when you're in other capture modes without opening the Capture mode menu. Right below the main shutter button, just tap Camera icon to switch back to Photo mode or Video record button to switch back to Video mode.

Capture mode settings

You can change the settings for some of the capture modes such as Photo or Video mode. Select a mode and then you'll see the available settings for the mode.
Setting Description Available in which modes
Set the photo quality and aspect ratio. Photo / Selfie Photo /Pro
Camera timer off indicator Cycle through the time settings to set the self-timer or turn off the self-timer. See Taking photos with the self-timer for details. Photo / Selfie Photo / Selfie Panorama / Pro
Sticker icon Choose from the fun stickers to add to your photo or video. Photo / Selfie Photo / Video / Selfie Video
Flash off indicator Choose a flash setting. All modes except Panorama
HDR auto option Turn HDR on or off. Photo / Selfie Photo
Full HD resolution indicator Set the video quality. Video / Selfie Video
Sonic Zoom icon Choose how you want to record audio with your video. For details, see Recording video with Sonic Zoom and Recording video in 3D Audio or high resolution audio.

Video
Choose how you want to record audio with your video selfie. For details, see Recording video in 3D Audio or high resolution audio. Selfie Video
RAW and JPEG format indicator Choose RAW or JPG format for photos. See Taking a RAW photo for details. Pro
Selfie Panorama wide mode icon Toggle between wide and super-wide selfie panorama. See Taking a panoramic selfie and Taking a super wide-angle panoramic selfie. Selfie Panorama
